    Outside My Window ~ 3.6.11

Outside My Window…is a gray, drizzly day.  Currently at 11:00 a.m., we are at 61°F and quite cloudy.  There is a chance of rain this morning but a greater one this afternoon when our temps will climb to about 64°F for the high and we will experience steady rains and thunder.  It sounds like a typical spring day even though the first day of spring is actually two weeks away.  Two Weeks!  I’m really looking forward to spring….I am so tired of the cold this year.  Trees and plants are coming back to life in full force….before we know it there will be warmer temps and sunny days….as well as the yellow/green…

    Outside My Window ~ 1.2.2011

Outside My Window…is heavy rain and gray skies.  At 11:00 this morning, we have a temperature of 57°F….and after weeks of brrrr chilly weather, that feels quite toasty outside.  I took the outside Christmas lights down this morning….fortunately before the rains came.  The snow had finally melted off of the bushes so I could see where they were.  It is amazing what a difference a week can make…last Sunday at this time there was heavy snow, white out conditions and a temperature of  28°F….today I’m walking around outside in sandals and short sleeves before the rain came.  And rain….yea, we can use that after the 14 inches of snow we got…

    Outside My Window ~ 10.3.10

Outside My Window…is cloudy, wet and cool.  We are currently at 63ºF at 7:00 this evening.  The temperature hasn’t varied too much today from our current temp….there has been light rain falling all day on and off.  This is my definition of typical fall weather.  The trees in my neighborhood are beginning to turn ~ especially the dogwood trees.   Rain is forecast for Monday with it clearing off in the evening.  Our temperatures are going to stay in the mid sixties to seventy degrees during the day and lows in the mid to upper 50’s in the evenings this week.  I’m not complaining…just wish the earlier storm hadn’t revealed the roof leak again. …

    Unofficial

The rain has stopped….for the most part.  There is a chance for showers this morning from a system moving across the lower part of the state, but that is slim.  The skies are gray and cloudy….the wind is blowing just enough to make my wind chimes sing to me.  The air is cool….crisp.  This was my view as I looked out my storm door yesterday.  It was a perfect day to work from home ~ I arranged to do so earlier in the week not even realizing what was to come.  I couldn’t have planned it any better.  It was a constant, steady rain….sometimes, it was torrential rains.  Our unofficial total for the day was 6.05…

    Well…….

Remember how I was saying all summer long how I wished it would rain…. …and how I was so happy these past two days we were finally getting rain? Well…..see the big clump of yellow over Eastern Virginia? Wish Granted! I guess I should have specified I didn’t mean all at once.

Outside My Window…is cloudy with fog and light rain ~ about 70ºF at 5:47 p.m. ~ it has been cloudy, cool and rainy all day ~ fabulous!  Believe it or not, I’m not being sarcastic either….as far as I am concerned this cool, gray, rainy day is just what I ordered.   Lord knows we can definitely use the rain….and the clouds and cool weather is a welcome relief from the heat and sunshine.  You are probably thinking I’m insane if you live in an area that has experienced cool temps and lots of rain this summer but we have been so hot and dry I was beginning to forget what this type of weather felt like.  All those wishes from…
